LANSING – Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm said she will not become Secretary of Energy in President-elect Barack Obama’s administration, instead she will remain at the helm of Michigan until her term expires in 2010.
Granholm denied rumors she would head to Washington DC Tuesday during an interview with WWJ Newsradio 950:
“I have two years left, and I would love to be Governor as he is president,” she said. “So, we’d have a partner in the White House for two of my eight years as Governor. I think it would be a great thing and a very satisfying thing to be able to have my agenda aligned with the President’s,” the Governor said.
Granholm told WWJ she is pleased with how the Secretary of State handled everything today. She also tells WWJ what she expects to see when it comes to voting in the future.
“I think she’s done a great job – at least at least as far as we can see. It’s just such a huge number of people to put through the system in one day” she said.
“I would very much like to see us have early voting like other states do, or no reason absentee voting, so that people have a better, easier opportunity to exercise this great right to vote,” Granhom said.
