ANN ARBOR -The Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest business plan writing contest said that applications for the new executive director position must be submitted no later than August 16. So far, more than a half dozen candidates have applied.

The executive director’s responsibilities will include completion and implementation of a multi-year strategic vision, high-level fund raising and development, public relations, supervision of staff and volunteers and budgeting. This position will have considerable autonomy, reporting directly to the GLEQ board of directors.
Ideal candidates will have broad experience in strategic planning, fund raising and administration. Candidates should also have an acute knowledge of business, as well as a useful network of business contacts and organizations that actively support entrepreneurs. A bachelor’s degree plus five to 10 years of related experience is required.
