TROY – The fourth forum in the Entrepreneurial Initiative of Southeast Michigan, scheduled for Jan. 12, will feature presentations by three emerging companies selected by a panel of the groups’ business leaders and investors.

The keynote speaker will be from the Michigan Economic Development and discuss the new 21st Century Jobs Fund Initiative and the funding application process. The fund is part of the Governor’s Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow plan to grow Michigan’s economy. It will encourage job growth by helping to invest in new businesses and new technology development with a high-potential for job growth in the future. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

The companies chosen to present their stories to investors and business leaders are:

IMX is developing a consumer alternative payment solution for Internet shopping through use of a prepaid, secure account.

Check the Crib provides an Internet-based procurement system that eliminates cumbersome procedures for manufacturers when they buy mission-critical spare parts.

Secure Crossing is a risk management technology security firm that provides network defense for small to medium-sized companies.

The companies will present their business plans and receive feedback from venture capitalists, bankers, angel investors and others with experience in assisting entrepreneurial businesses.

EISEM is a series of programs that works to highlight entrepreneurs and their businesses and further develop their message to reach customers and investors.

The event is scheduled for Jan. 12 from 8 ? 11:30 am at the Automation Alley headquarters in Troy.
