BAY CITY – Aspiring entrepreneur’s listen up. On June 18, Delta College and the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center, supported in part by the Prima Civitas Foundation, will host an Entrepreneur’s Day to provide resources to aspiring entrepreneurs.

The program also includes connections to regional small business owners and resource partners from across Mid-Michigan.

A variety of events and learning opportunities are scheduled throughout the day, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

1 p.m. �?? 4 p.m., Resource exhibitors will be providing information on their organizations and services which support and encourage entrepreneurship.

2 p.m. and 4 p.m., Entrepreneur Panel Discussions: Learning from the Past �?? Shaping the Future

(Two different sessions featuring local entrepreneurs and regional success stories)

Successful regional entrepreneurs will share their personal journeys. How they got started. What obstacles they encounter and how they resolved them. What they wouldn�??t change and what they would do over if they could. This is an opportunity to learn from experience.

3 p.m., Break Out Sessions.

Event attendees will have the option of choosing two topics during the Breakout Session period.

5 p.m., Keynote speaker – Chris Holman – Michigan’s Small Business Advocate will address the audience with an informational and inspirational message of future focus and the role of Entrepreneurship on the Michigan Economy. We will also be thanking supporters of the MI-SBTDC program – now in its sixth year at Delta College.

6 p.m., Networking Reception

All events will be held on the main campus of Delta College near Bay City.

In other MISBTDC news, Sienna Mavima, Information Manager for the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center has been named “Star Performer” and will be recognized for her outstanding work at the 28th Annual ASBDC (America�??s Small Business and Development Center) Conference in Chicago later this summer.

This recognition is awarded for outstanding performance touching the Mi-SBTDC network at a statewide level. Sienna�??s work with management of data, attentiveness to operational needs and her outstanding leadership of the Academy of Business Consultant are just a few reasons that have earned her this achievement.

Amy Reid has officially been named Director of the Business Development Center, Schoolcraft College. In this role, Amy has oversight of the SBTDC at Schoolcraft College, the PTAC and other Schoolcraft business initiatives.
