LANSING – Have you or someone you know, re-invented themselves by starting a new career or opening a business after a layoff or downsizing? Have you retired and took up a new job? Do you know of a company that helps people re-invent themselves to find a new career or pursue their passion? Corp! magazine wants to recognize these accomplishments with its first Corp! Re-Invent Awards.

Nominations are due May 25. The awards will include both individual and company categories.

Nominated individuals must be based in Michigan and be actively involved in his/her business or employed in his/her position. Nominees must document prior work history and include work/business activity, background and a description of his/her Re-Invention. Specific examples should be included to convey the nominee’s story.

Nominated companies must be offering services to Michigan individuals and/or companies. The company’s business activity and its services must illustrate the help provided to people embarking on a Re-Invention. Nominees should incorporate specific examples to demonstrate their success.

“The current economy calls for new ways of thinking about work, age and career. Downsizing, financial factors and increased lifespan have caused Baby Boomers and others to view their retirement and finances with a new lens, causing many individuals to look at staying in the workforce longer, but perhaps in new careers, as entrepreneurs or pursuing a passion,” said Publisher Jennifer Kluge. “This is our opportunity to recognize their accomplishments.”

Winners will be featured in a future issue of Corp! and will be invited to a special celebration in their honor. Candidates can apply online at CorpMagazine.Com
