GRAND RAPIDS Five year old CareerMatrix.Com made some giant leaps in April to expand its business partnerships and refine its business model to make the site much more user friendly for employers that post job listings.
CareerMatrix.Com also has decided to open its database to professional recruiters. Some 80 percent of users said they would welcome head hunters on the job board, said Dennis Hoyle, co owner of CareerMatrix.Com, and a member of glimaWest. CareerMatrix.com, however, will continue to restrict fee based employers from posting any jobs on our site.
Another new wrinkle added by Hoyle to help employers quickly sort through resumes is a simple online pre-screening process. When a candidate sends an employer a resume through its system, they will be asked a series of questions the employer has created. When the resume is sent to employers, the percentage of correct answers is displayed in the subject line of the e-mail message to make it easier for employers to choose which applicant to look at first.
On April 14, CareerMatrix.Com formed its ninth partnership, this time with WILX in Lansing, to power its Mid Michigan job site. As a result, CareerMatrix is landing nearly 4,000 unique visitors each day.
Also in April, CareerMatrix was again listed by Weddles Guides To Employment Web Sites, an honor accorded to only 350 of the 40,000 jobs boards on the net. The American Staffing Association has called the books editor, Peter Weddle, the Zagat of the recruitment industry.
Being selected by Weddles is proof positive that CareerMatrix.com delivers real value to job seekers and employers, alike, Hoyle said. Thats how we want to be evaluated and thats how we want to be known.
Fellow owner Tim Colthorp said CareerMatrix.Com already has features of the big national job boards, so its great to be recognized by a national publication for CareerMatrix.Coms hard work.
Weddles 2004 Guides are sold in bookstores and at Amazon.com.
