DEARBORN ? Seats are going fast for Butzel Long’s 19th Annual Labor and Employment Law Forum Oct. 13 at the Dearborn Inn.

The Forum features three tracks of fifteen informative sessions to choose from. This one-day program is a must for policymakers and staff members alike, said Dan Tukel who is organizing the Forum with Jim Rosenfeld, both shareholders in Butzel Long.

?We have been a sell out for a number of years,? Tukel said. ?We can accommodate 300, and we?re already half full. Time is running out for anyone who wants to attend this informative event.?

Some hot button legal issues this year that were added to the Forum include:

Religious discrimination and accommodation.

Off duty employee misconduct.

Affirmative action.

?We have a multi cultural workforce and employers have an affirmative obligation to accommodate religious beliefs,? he said. ?Off duty misconduct also is new to the Forum. Somebody on your staff gets involved in a bar room fight or does alleged misconduct, we tell employers how to deal with that issue.?

Said Rosenfeld: ?This Forum is important because of the cases coming down that are changing the legal landscape for employers. It?s crucial for employers to keep proactive in handling their business legal issues.?

The program fee includes all materials, a continental breakfast, a full luncheon featuring a guest speaker, plus a reception afterwards to meet Butzel Long?s attorneys to find out more.
