TROY – Automation Alley has retained for the next three years as its general counsel Raymond & Prokop, an active member of Southeast Michigan?s regional technology cluster.

Raymond & Prokop maintains a big tax practice and has been branching out into technology, health care, real estate, automotive, manufacturing, non-profit, banking and Indian law.

?This is an agreement that allows R&P to leverage its full technology and business resources to an organization that is greatly contributing to the business culture of southeast Michigan,? said Raymond & Prokop Managing Partner and CEO Robert Schwartz. ?We have enjoyed a very active relationship with the Alley since its inception and are greatly looking forward to our newly coordinated efforts in the coming years, making Michigan a smart place to be for technology businesses.?

Schwartz, along with R&P attorneys Jeremy Bisdorf and Marc Shulman have been actively engaged in Automation Alley throughout its five-year history. As a foundation member of the Alley, Schwartz has lead R&P as a member of the Alley’s executive committee, Bisdorf currently serves as chair of the Alley?s Membership Orientation Committee and Shulman, as a state legislator has championed the Alley in Lansing since its inception.

?To continue to be successful in our mission, Automation Alley relies on the talent and expertise of a number of strategic partners,? said Ken Rogers, executive director of Automation Alley. ?We are delighted to be able to call Raymond & Prokop one of these important partners.?

Raymond & Prokop will advise the organization in areas ranging from tax and technology law to new state and federal regulations now governing non-profit entities.

The new engagement comes at a time when both Automation Alley and Raymond & Prokop have been actively seeking out and creating new opportunities to build business relationships in the areas of health and manufacturing technology through strategic events and collaboration.
