TROY ? Automation Alley?s Export Center has established research agreements with the business schools at the University of Michigan, Wayne State University and Walsh College to provide free research assistance for member companies of the Export Center.
Potential research projects, which typically cost a company thousands of dollars through an outside firm, include market analysis or cultural reports for areas in which the companies are considering export opportunities.
?Evaluating whether or not your company is ready to export can be a lengthy and costly process for small- to mid- size companies that are looking to grow their businesses,? said Hayes Jones, director, Automation Alley Export Center. ?This agreement with local universities allows us to provide our members the benefit of having the research completed for free so they can accurately determine whether or not they should pursue exporting to a specific area.?
Member companies of the Export Center can request one research project per year under this agreement. Once the parameters of the project are determined, a selected graduate or advanced baccalaureate student will complete the task under the direction of the dean from his or her institution.
The Automation Alley Export Center is a part of the Automation Alley International Business Center. Its role is to assist businesses in determining business growth opportunities through exporting and then to prepare them to be export ready. The Export Center?s activities are supported by its sponsors, Comerica Bank and Oakland Community College.
