ANN ARBOR – The Association for Women in Computing, Ann Arbor Chapter is hosting a job fair on April 22 at the University of Michigan School of Information to hook up Southeast Michigan professionals with companies looking for employees with IT skills.
Representatives from several companies including Blue Care Network of Michigan, Cisco Systems, Compuware, Deloitte & Touche, Fiserv, HTC Global Services, and MCIT, R.L. Polk & Co. and Thomson Medstat will be in attendance to meet job seekers.
“This event is an effort to connect employers face to face with qualified job applicants. Additionally, proceeds from our job fair will be used towards our scholarship program for women studying computing and engineering,” said Audrey Neuvirth, president of AWC, Ann Arbor Chapter.
“We awarded over $6000 in scholarships last year and are now accepting applications for the 2006 scholarships. We encourage interested employers to contact us to participate in the job fair.”
During the job fair, career development workshops on interview techniques and leadership development are being offered by IW Associates and The Center for Executive Development.
AWC organizers advise jobseekers to bring multiple copies of their resumes to the job fair and dress professionally. The event is free to job seekers, but
