ANN ARBOR ? What does it take to start and build a technology company? Find out at the Art of the Start, a joint program co sponsored by The Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest and Ann Arbor SPARK.
Michael Long, CEO of Velcura, and Luke Pinkerton, CTO of Polytorx, will discuss how they started their companies. Velcura, developer of new therapies for osteoporosis, was the 2001 grand prize winner in the GLEQ business plan competition, while Polytorx, maker of advanced reinforcing additives for concrete, was the runner-up winner in 2004. Both companies were recently awarded grants totaling $3.5 million from the 21st Century Jobs Fund.
This session will allow participants to learn from the experienced entrepreneurial panelists and ask questions related to their own start-up challenges. Designed for both novices and seasoned business professionals, the entrepreneur?s roundtable will help other technology companies navigate through the issues needed to grow and manage their company.
