LANSING ? The submission deadline for the next round of the
21st Century Business Plan Competition, worth some $30 million, has been moved back nearly a month, from June 4 to June 30, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced Wednesday.
Cindy Douglas, Director of Program Administration for the MEDC, said potential applicants were telling the MEDC they needed more time to get the complicated process finished and to line up matching equity funds, a new requirement. Douglas was attending the first day of the Michigan Growth Capital Symposium at the Eagle Crest Conference Center in Ypsilanti.
Other critical dates also have shifted back a month. The new target dates for the written review is now June 30 to Aug. 8. The SEIC Board action based on written review recommendations has slid back to Aug. 20. Oral interviews will be conducted from Aug. 21 to Sept. 26. Winners will be announced Oct. 8.
The rest of the fine print remains the same.
