ANN ARBOR ? 20/20 Communications, which already was providing high-speed wireless connections to select areas of Washtenaw County, now will get to extend its network to the entire county after the Wireless Washtenaw Advisory Board picked the company from among three finalists that included IBM, AT&T and MichTel Communications.
20/20 Communications will partner with Siemens Communications Group and CenturyTel to roll the service out in 2007.
?We are so pleased at the decision that?s been made here today, and we look forward to working with our partners in implementing these important new services for county residents,? said Bill Lockwood, 20/20 Director of Sales & Government Relations.
Doug Van Houweling, CEO of Internet2, and a member of the Washtenaw Wireless Advisory Board, called the selection of 20/20 an important day for the county in its drive to bring high performance networking for small to medium sized businesses.
