GRAND RAPIDS – West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum will host its 30th Annual Meeting at LMCU Ballpark August 21.  The event will will include an update on the organization, announcement of this year’s West Michigan Sustainable Business Hall of Fame and Sustainable Business of the Year honorees, and the forum’s annual “state of sustainable business” discussion.

This year’s panel will focus on investments in decarbonization and sustainable materials management, representation in business and the equitable distribution of resources, Justice 40 state and federal climate funding, and how business sets the pace for sustainability leadership in the state. This year’s panel of speakers includes:

  • Julie Staveland, Assistant Division Director, Materials Management Division, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy
  • Jim Roberts, founder and president of Jim Roberts Enterprises LLC and Jim Roberts Investment Advisors LLC, recently named the 2023 West Michigan Hispanic Business Person of the Year.
  • Janay Brower, Founder/CEO, Public Thread, a local company working with and designing around upcycled materials to create artfully crafted products.
