FERNDALE – Diva Tech Talk co-founder Kathleen Norton-Schock talks about International Women’s Month, and the fact that women are not participating in the computer world in numbers that reflect their numbers in the population. Women earn 57 percent of bachelor degrees, but only 12 percent of those degrees are in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

She also talks about the Michigan Council of Women in Technology and all the great programs the group offers for young women, particularly high school girls. Each summer MCWT hosts summer computer camps that attract 200 girls who learn more about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
