- Prior to joining LTU, he served as the interim dean of the Russ College of Engineering and Technology at Ohio University from June 2022 to July 2023.
- Before that, he was the dean of the College of Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, from 2007 to 2021.
- Earlier in his career, Dr. Mirmirani served as a professor of mechanical engineering at California State University-Los Angeles for 20 years, including a 12-year stint as department chair.
