ANN ARBOR – Kathleen Norton-Schock provides her monthly updates on all the programs on Michigan Council of Women in Technology”s calendar over the next couple of months, including several competitions that earn college scholarships.

On Feb. 22, Hockey with Heart: A Fundraiser with the Detroit Red Wings v Colorado Avalance, is scheduled for Little Ceasar’s Arena. A pre-game event with Together4Tech, MCWT’s male allies, will happen right before the game in Heritage Hall at LCA. Tickets are $50, and include the pre-game event with Together4Tech and the game itself.

Robotics Competition Grants for Middle and High School Girls

Application Deadline MARCH 8

MCWT supports girls in grades 5-12 by offering a series of $750 grants to all-girl teams participating in qualified Robotics competitions, including Lawrence Technological University’s Robofest.

To qualify for a Robotics grant: 

– Must be Michigan residents.

– Have an all-female team in grades 5-12.

– Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

– Must register, or plan to register, for a qualified Robotics competition in Michigan (in-person or by video submission).

Applications will be reviewed at the end of each month beginning in October. Applications may be submitted as long as awards are available or until March 8.
