CyberPatriot Teaches Students How To Become Cybersecurity Pros

DEARBORN – CyberPatriot is a program aimed at grade school students that teaches them the basics of cybersecurity. Joining Matt and Mike on MITech TV is Tamara Shoemaker, who founded the program in Michigan, and hopes to develop summer camps for students to get even more hands on experience.

In this video interview, she discusses what CyberPatriot is and does. She also said she needs help from the companies who hope to hire these students by funding summer camps to recruit even more potential cyber warriors to her program.

Plus she needs current cybersecurity professionals to serve as mentor to her students in hopes they will pursue degrees in cybersecurity where hundreds of thousands of job openings are available at starting salaries near $120,000 a year.
