SOUTHFIELD – Michigan’s five-year-old adult-legal cannabis market, which cracked $10 billion in cumulative sales in December 2024, is the focus of Michigan Matters Sunday Feb. 23 with host Carol Cain.

On the show is Cannabis Regulatory Agency Director Brian Hanna, University of Michigan Pharmacy Professor Gus Rosania, and Four20 Post Editor Mike Brennan. Hanna enforces the cannabis regulations developed by the state legislature, Rosania teaches a cannabis chemistry class at the U-M, and Brennan has been writing about the Michigan cannabis industry since 2018.

The wide ranging discussion explores where the Michigan industry is today, where it is headed, and what impact it has on the state’s economy, employing nearly 40,000 people and generating taxes that exceeded $1.6 billion since December 2019.

You can watch Michigan Matters live on CBS Detroit Sunday at 5:30 am, and at 9:30 am Sundays on CW Detroit 50. You can also watch the show nationally on Fubo, Pluto TV, YouTube TV and Apple TV, as well as on-demand after the show airs at CBS Detroit website.
