TROY – A digital forensics workshop for students is among 26 student projects that will be showcased on Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Walsh College Business Information Technology and Information Assurance Capstone Fair. The fair, which is free to the public, will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Troy campus in Rooms 111, 112, and 113.
A Walsh student Capstone project demonstrates to faculty, family, fellow students, and industry professionals that they have mastered their subject area before graduating with a Master of Science in Information Systems or Master of Science in Information Assurance degree.
Students demonstrate project management and programming skills, solve real-world problems, and often relate their projects to their jobs. Projects include a survey that determines the need to translate electronic medical records for the Arabic community; a web application for classic automobiles; a hardware design for cost-saving cloud computing, and an open source library application for public schools.
?The projects are extremely time-consuming and require a lot of hard work, yet are extremely rewarding,? said Nan Poulios, associate professor, Business Information Technology and director, Walsh College Information Assurance Center.
