GRAND RAPIDS – MITechNews.Com is going national with its Security podcasting channel in a new alliance with SecureWorld Expo of Portland, Oregon. The audio-interview series is called the SecureWorld Channel.

SecureWorld Channel will explore cyber security issues with national experts and reach a national audience.

SecureWorld Expo, which hosts in 2009 eight live two-day security expos at cities around the United States, will promote the Security podcast channel at SecureWorldExpo.Com and monthly in its newsletters to an audience of 18,000 readers nationwide.

SecureWorld Expo also will use this audio podcasting channel to update its attendees on what’s in store for them at each of its 2009 expos as well as providing expo keynote speakers with the opportunity to tell expo attendees what they can expect to learn from their full presentations. Interviews also will be done with key security business leaders, security product and service vendors, decision makers and government officials nationwide.

MITechNews.Com also will promote the SecureWorld Channel in its twice monthly Security newsletter, which goes to a regional email database of more than 30,000 names.

The podcasts interviews are done by veteran technology reporter, Mike Brennan, Editor & Publisher of MITechNews.Com. Brennan spent two decades covering technology and security for newspapers nationwide. For the past decade, Brennan has done the same for a Great Lakes regional audience at his news portal, MITechNews.Com.

“Security has been a very hot issue well before the Terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001,” Brennan said. “But now, every company, every business everywhere is under constant attack from cyber criminals trying to steal their intellectual property, their proprietary information, their financial records, and more. The Security podcast channel will feature interviews with some of the top Security experts in the country who will explain how businesses in America and beyond can defend themselves from malware, Trojans and other tools in these cyber criminals’ arsenals.”

Brennan’s sentiments were echoed by Kerry Nelson, SecureWorld Managing Director.

“We are excited to have formed this partnership in the creation of the SecureWorld Podcast Channel,” Nelson said. “It will be utilized as an efficient tool in reaching out to the security community. It will also be a good way to communicate updates about the development of the 2009 SecureWorld conferences.”

The new Security channel roll January 22 and include one title sponsorship and several affiliate sponsorships. If you have a story idea, a column you’d like aired, new Security product or service offerings, email it to [email protected]
