DETROIT ? InfraGard?s Annual Congress will be held this year in Washington DC from August 9 – 11 at the JW Marriott. This is a mark you calendars? announcement as planning is so early conference costs have not yet been determined. The important news, though, is this will be the first Congress open to all InfraGard members instead of just chapter delegates. InfraGard will emphasize at the Congress how it is ready to work more closely with the Department of Homeland Security as never before.
Now is the time, if you have considered involvement with InfraGard to take that step. Find out more about how you can be a part of this organization and both assist your country and your business in the sharing of critical information pertinent to business and national security.
As a member, you will be able to attend uniquely crafted sessions designed to enhance your knowledge of security issues in our Metro Detroit area, network with other security peers, receive discounted rates to attend this years SecureWorld conference, and of course attend this National Congress in August.
If you are already an InfraGard member, we need your help! Track organizers are needed for the conference. Below is a brief listing of the tracks, please contact our President and let him know of your willingness and ability to contribute effort towards any of these that seem a good match:
1: Port Vulnerabilities and Security
2: Computer Forensics (2 sessions – labs and lecture)
A: computer lab – 1 track of hands on labs
B: lecture – 1 track of lecture on forensics
3: Cyber Security – Malware, Hacking
4: First Responders – Fire, Hazmat, Police, Emergency Management, Incident
command
5: Critical Infrastructure Security – Transportation, airline, trucking,
trains, Agrigard, and Energy
6: Financial Institution Security
There are 10 sessions that have to have topics and speakers for each track. The track organizer will need to populate the sessions with speakers and do all of the coordination for his/her track. There are opportunities for companies to receive recognition on the tracks, as well as formal sponsorship opportunities that you can get your company involved in.
Get involved early ? this will be a great event for InfraGard and those companies participating. For additional information or to sign up, contact Michigan InfraGard President Thomas Raupp at [email protected] or telephone him at (248) 267-0763.
