YPSILANTI – The School of Cyber-Crime Investigation at Eastern Michigan University is now accepting applications for its 2006 class, which is designed for law enforcement officers.

This unique educational/training program has been developed in cooperation with quality instructors from law enforcement, business and industry. These professionals provide comprehensive instruction relevant to the recent developments in the field of cyber crime investigation.

Not only is knowledge of advanced computer software and applications put forth, but also an understanding of the technological tools available to the new generation of cyber crime investigators. Program content ranges from basic cyber crime investigative tools to advanced presentation techniques. These strategies can be used in the courtroom as well as in the boardroom.

The classroom experience is supplemented with lecture and textbook materials. Considerable time is spent developing hands-on skills in an academic lab setting. Participants spend the majority of their time doing investigations and implementing new techniques rather than talking about investigations. This hands-on training has led directly to the opening of criminal cases based on communication that program participants have had with potential cyber criminals while in the classroom.
