DETROIT Four Wayne State University graduates who have made significant contributions to their companies and communities will receive the schools Corporate Leadership Awards in June, a tradition at Wayne State for the past 21 years.
The recipients are Terry Reiley, President of the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, Ed Christian, CEO of Saga Communications, and Monice Mitchell Simms of Flower Girl Productions. The Delphi Corp. will receive the Corporate Citizenship Award.
Reiley will receive the 21st Century Award. This award is presented to an alumna/us who has shown personal and professional leadership in one of these areas global leadership, technological innovation, urban involvement or a commitment to diversity. Reiley received a masters degree in business from Wayne State University in 1990.
Christian will receive the Distinguished Corporate Leader Award, presented to an alumna/us who has enjoyed a lifetime of achievement in his or her chosen field. Christian received his bachelors degree in mass communications in 1973.
Simms will receive the Emerging Corporate Leader Award, presented to an alumna/us who is an entrepreneur or following a successful second career path, and who shows great potential for future leadership in a chosen field. Mitchell graduated from the Journalism Institute for Minorities in the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts in 1993.
