SHANGHAI – Visteon Corporation has started production of a Bluetooth hands-free system developed jointly with Parrot to equip the Nissan Bluebird Sylphy for the Chinese market.
The system is manufactured at the Yanfeng Visteon Automotive
of high-end Bluetooth hands-free systems with voice recognition, which
Visteon has launched previously for Nissan in North America and other key
markets, based on Visteon Voice Technology.
Visteon’s MACH Voice Link combines Visteon Voice Technology with
Bluetooth wireless communication to create a connection between
consumers’ portable electronic devices – such as mobile phones and PDAs –
and their vehicles. Visteon Voice Technology is a voice activation system
that recognizes hundreds of verbal commands.
Bluetooth is a global wireless communication standard that enables digital devices to seamlessly link together. By integrating these two technologies, consumers can use their cellular phones while keeping their hands on the wheel and eyes on the road.
As a chairing member of the Bluetooth SIG Automobile working group,
Parrot is a specialist in Bluetooth hands-free telephony in the car. The
company designs and markets advanced hands-free systems which are
compatible with Bluetooth-equipped mobile phones.
