SOUTHFIELD – Verizon Wireless has named John Granby president?Michigan/Indiana/Kentucky Region, Verizon Wireless, with responsibilities for sales, marketing, operations, financial performance and customer service.
Granby’s 16-year career with the company has included several positions with increasing responsibility in sales, customer service and financial services. Most recently, he served as director of customer service for the Georgia/Alabama Region for Verizon Wireless. He also served as vice president of Operations?Financial Services for the former Alltel (a legacy company of Verizon Wireless) where he managed eight call centers across the nation. Granby also was a vice president and general manager of the former Alltel?s South Market Area, which included Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
During his career, Granby has received a number of leadership and sales performance awards. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Technical Institute and State University where he majored in communications, English and consumer sciences.
In Michigan, Verizon Wireless has more than 2,100 employees and 65 company-owned retail locations in more than 40 cities, including Allen Park, Alpena, Alpine Twp., Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Battle Creek, Bay City, Brighton, Burton, Canton, Clinton Twp., Dearborn, Detroit, East Lansing, Escanaba, Farmington Hills, Fenton, Flint, Fort Gaylord, Gratiot, Grand Rapids, Grandville, Highland Park, Holland, Houghton, Iron Mountain, Jackson, Kentwood, Lake Orion, Lansing, Livonia, Marquette, Midland, Monroe, Muskegon, Northville, Novi, Okemos, Petoskey, Pontiac, Portage, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, Saginaw, St. Clair Shores, St. Joseph, Southfield, Taylor, Traverse City, Troy, Utica, Warren and Westland.
