BLOOMFIELD HILLS David Brophy, one of the states top experts on private equity finance, has been appointed to the Advisory Committee of Nantucket Multi Managers, a hedge fund investor for high net worth individuals and institutions.
Brophy also is the founder of the grand daddy of all entrepreneur conferences in the Midwest, the Michigan Growth Capital Symposium, which is scheduled for June 15-16 at the University of Michigan Business School.
“Nantucket Capital is a unique investment institution in Michigan, with an excellent management group and record of achievement,” Brophy said. “It is an honor for me to join the outstanding leaders from our financial community who comprise the Advisory Committee and I look forward to my service with them.”
Brophy, a member of the finance faculty at the University of Michigan School of Business Administration, has been a director of several public companies and is a director and advisor to several banks, money market funds and financial services firms. Nantucket isnt the only investment fund on which Brophy has a seat. Hes also involved with Compass Technology Partners of Palo Alto, Plymouth Ventures and Bio-Star Ventures.
Brophy serves on the Advisory Committee of the Zell-Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies and is director of the Michigan Business School’s Center for Venture Capital and Private Equity Finance.
