HOLLAND ? Looking for a job in information technology? Want to move to West Michigan? You could be in luck according to the latest staffing survey done by Paragon Recruiting.
The survey shows 36 percent of companies that responded plan to increase their IT staff next year. Professional services and manufacturers are the industries that plan more increases in early 2008 than in 2007. Senior level staff in applications will be in higher demand than in earlier years.
The size of a company seems to have little relation to its tech staffing plans. More companies than other years reported a reduction in overall workforce. However, over half the small companies (those with fewer than 50 workers) are planning to hire technology employees.
More companies are planning to outsource some or all of their IT work than have for the past two years. Local outsourcing is dropping somewhat, national outsourcing is staying stable, while off-shore outsourcing is increasing.
Paragon Recruiting surveyed nearly 100 Mid and West Michigan firms of varying sizes and industries participate in this semi-annual forecast.
