SOUTHFIELD – Democratic gubernatorial candidate Virg Bernero has selected Southfield Mayor Brenda Lawrence as his choice for his running mate as lieutenant governor, multiple sources told Gongwer News Service.

Bernero has scheduled a press conference for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Cobo Center in Detroit at the opening of the Democratic Party’s convention to make the official announcement.
