ANN ARBOR ? The sixth Entrepreneur?s Boot Camp, which has helped previous participants win big in the Great Lakes Entrepreneur?s Quest contest, is scheduled for May 12-13 at the Ann Arbor IT Zone Launch Pad.

This session is offered through the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti Business Accelerator ? one of 11 Smart Zones in the state. Past sessions were hosted by the Ann Arbor IT Zone.

No matter which group hosts the Boot Camp, the results have been impressive. Boot Camp graduates have won four of the top five awards in the GLEQ in June 2004 and the top elevator pitch presentation at the Annual Collaboration for Entrepreneurship event in January 2005.

The event features nationally known speakers on entrepreneurship from the UM Ross School of Business, successful local entrepreneurs and investors. It combines hands on learning and one on one mentoring with local business experts. During the Boot Camp process, entrepreneurs will prepare and refine their elevator pitch, executive summary and investor presentation.

To kickoff Boot Camp, the Accelerator has partnered with GLEQ and the Michigan Information Technology Center to host a series of educational seminars that prepare participants for the challenges faced in defining a well thought out business and to prepare for the Entrepreneur’s Boot Camp.

On March 30, the topic will be Venture Value Chain by Jim Price of Company Crafters and the Elevator Pitch by Chuck Salley of the Ann Arbor Business Accelerator from 6:15-8:45 p.m. The events will be held at the MITC facility at 1000 Oak Brook Drive just off South State St in Ann Arbor. Admission is free but pre-registration is required at GLEQ.Org
