WARREN – Michigan’s economic future can no longer rely upon the manufacturing industry, but must look to technology and science-based opportunities. This year, Corp! magazine and MITechNews.Com created the Business of Science and Technology Awards to recognize those companies and educational organizations that are leading the way in science and technology through innovation, research and applied science.

Fifty-seven organizations – ranging from software companies to research and development firms, consultants and schools – will be honored for their contributions in Michigan on April 20 at the MSU Management Education Center.

“This is an important time to recognize the innovations occurring within the state as an indicator of a brighter future, said Jennifer Kluge, Corp! magazine publisher.

Sponsored by Mitechnews.com, the Corp! Business of Science and Technology Awards was presented in cooperation with the Michigan Business and Professional Association and the Michigan Food and Beverage Association.

“MITechNews.Com is very happy to co sponsor the Business of Science and Technology awards,” said Editor & Publisher Mike Brennan. “When MITechNews.Com was launched in 2000, we were the first web portal site to offer news and information about Science and Technology in Michigan. Although we?ve had many imitators over the past decade, we remain the most comprehensive source of Michigan technology news today.”
