SOUTHFIELD Plante & Moran has launched an online web service for the Monroe County Clerks Office, the first step in a long list of new web enabled services that will be offered by Monroe County.
The first online services include ordering vital records such as birth
certificates, purchasing lists of registered voters, and searching for
Doing Business As (DBA) certificates. The DBA search is a free service
while the other services charge a fee. The fee is accepted by Visa and
Mastercard and is handled through a secure service outside of Plante &
Moran. Orders collected from the site are processed using an administrative
web application. This helps the Clerks office easily fulfill orders and
respond to their customers.
Prior to the redesign, people doing business with the Monroe County
Clerks office needed to show up in person to collect records. The new site allows everyone to take care of the requests from a PC. The register of deeds, county
treasurer and equalization offices will be the next to offer online
services.
The new site allows us to not only provide new resources to present
and former residents, but also to increase the efficiency in the Clerks
