ANN ARBOR – Online Technologies Corporation announced Wednesday it will open a nearly 5,000 square foot data center in downtown Ann Arbor, more than quadrupling OTC’s data center capacity.
OTC is opening the data center in response to market demand and strong sales growth.
It was originally built by Choice One Communications and includes state of the art security, FM 200 fire protection, Liebert industrial class air conditioning and humidity control, Liebert backup power system, cabling and monitoring.
OTC will use the new data center to house network infrastructure, co-located equipment, dedicated servers and shared servers. OTC also will maintain it’s original data center on Green Court in Ann Arbor as a redundant facility.
“Our market relies on the internet more and more, said Ty Myers, OTC Vice President of Sales and Marketing. They want a secure, well connected facility in this area to house those servers and they want it from the same vendor providing their other Internet services.”
Myers said small to medium sized businesses are buying more and more servers. These businesses want a secure, well connected facility in Ann Arbor to house these servers. And they want it from the same vendor providing their other internet services.
“The new data center itself is a very competitive co-location provider. Add to it OTC’s internet marketing, web development and internet consulting services and we become one of the best single sources for Internet Solutions in the Great Lakes region,” stated Yan Ness, President and CEO of OTC.
