ANN ARBOR ? Randal Charlton, Director of Wayne State University’s TechTown, was named 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year by the New Enterprise Forum on Thursday night at an awards gala honoring some of the best start ups from a year ago.
Other award winners include:
Best New Product of 2007: GeneVivo. Sean Ainsworth, CEO, accepted the award. GeneVivo creates high-value transgenic (genetically modified) animal models for researchers and drug developers.
Best Business Strategy of 2007: BioLumix. Gideon Eden, CEO, and Ruth Eden, accepted the award. BioLumix develops innovative proprietary products for the rapid, automated detection and enumeration of microorganisms in raw materials and finished products.
Best Presentation of 2007: RazorThreat. Greg Guidice, CEO, accepted the award. RazorThreat develops pre-emptive network security and vulnerability management systems.
In addition, Diane Durance, Executive Director of the Great Lakes Entrepreneur?s Quest, presented an Outstanding Contributor of 2007 award to Jan Gensheimer of Seracon, Inc.
The event took place at the Holiday Inn North Campus in Ann Arbor, where NEF hosts all its monthly business mixers.
Through its hands-on work with entrepreneurs, NEF has been planting the seeds for Michigan?s economic prosperity for over two decades.
