DETROIT – Autoline has launched the online version of its popular television show, called Autoline Daily, the world’s first daily global auto new program. Competitor Automotive News is expected to follow suit in November.

The five-minute daily newscast, which will be posted at select sites on the World Wide Web every Monday through Friday at noon. It is hosted by veteran automotive journalist John McElroy. Each program will contain the latest global automotive news as well as McElroy’s insight and analysis from over thirty years covering the industry.

“We’re excited to be the first in the business to bring the world a daily look at

what’s going on in this important and global industry,” said McElroy. “And

with the added strength of our media partners ?? WWJ Newsradio 950,

Autoblog.com, WardsAuto.com and MITechNews.Com – and the new partners that we will continue to add as we grow, viewers will be able to watch the newscast at any one of these sites everyday from noon Eastern time on.”

MITechNews.Com will pick up links to Autoline Daily and post them in its

Podcasting Section The shows also will be highlighted in MITechNews.Com??s Weekly eNewsletter that goes to more than 31,000 email addresses.

McElroy said the concept has been in discussion for a long time and was tested for two months prior to launch to make sure everyone on his team was up to speed and that Blue Sky Productions could handle a five-minute daily video podcast. He said for each minute on air, an hour is spent in production.

A big reason why the show went forward is McElroy landed a big sponsor,

Siemens PLM Software, one of Autoline’s longtime supporters. Siemens is the title sponsor as well as exclusive sponsor until mid November.

“As a company who creates cutting-edge software, we recognize the

enormous value of a daily global newscast focused strictly on the auto industry,”

said David Taylor, senior director, Automotive marketing, Siemens PLM Software. “We’re excited about the reach that Autoline Daily will provide us and we’re proud to continue our long standing partnership with John McElroy

and Blue Sky Productions.”

Autoline Daily will draw on the resources of Autoline, the television show,

which just celebrated its 11th consecutive year broadcasting on Superstation WTVS PBS Detroit.
