HOLLAND ? If you’re a mid level technology professional working in software applications and you’re looking for a job, you’ll be in luck during the second half of 2008, the latest Paragon Recruiting semi-annual Western Michigan IT hiring forecasts predicts.
Only manufacturing companies have shown a steady increase in information technology hiring over the five year life of the forecast, going from 8 percent to 30 percent that expect to add staff.
During the next six months nearly half of computer consulting companies plan to add tech staff. Past forecasts showed at least 20 percent of health care companies hiring new IT staff, but this next six months none are increasing or decreasing IT staff.
Mid level information technology professionals working in software applications will be most in demand during the coming six months in western Michigan.
The number of companies planning to outsource computer projects has stayed about the same as during the past year but with more local outsourcing and less offshore.
Nearly 100 mid and west Michigan companies of varying sizes and industries participate in this semi-annual forecast.
