LANSING – A proposed new map for the state’s 14 U.S. House seats won party-line approval Tuesday evening from the Senate Redistricting Committee, setting the stage for final action on redistricting for the congressional and state legislative districts.
With no changes made by the committee to the congressional plan, final passage of HB 4780 is expected in the Senate on Wednesday or Thursday, sending the legislation to Governor Rick Snyder. And with House passage earlier today of the legislative plan, Senate concurrence in that bill is expected later this week to send that bill (SB 498) to Snyder as well.
