NOVI – The fifth annual Michigan Energy Fair has moved from the Manistee County Fairgrounds to the Rock Financial Showcase. The Fair opens at 11 am Friday and runs through Sunday at 4 pm. Admission prices start at $10.

Again hosted by the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association, the Fair is one of the way GLREA reaches its of allowing those in the sustainable energy industry an opportunity to network with one another while also educating the public.

Not only is this event a great learning experience it also is fun, with local food, fun activities and workshops, engaging speakers, and music thrown in for good measure.

In previous years the Michigan Energy Fair was held at the Manistee County Fairgrounds in Onekam, Michigan. This year the location has been moved to Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, Michigan. At its peak in Onekama the fair drew over 6,000 attendees. This year the expectation is that the crowds will be much larger.

Gov. Jennifer Granholm will deliver the opening address at 11 am Friday.

The Fair is free for GLREA members. For non members, admission if $10 on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. A two-day pass costs $15 and a three day full pass costs $20, which also includes GLREA individual membership. A three-day full family pass, which includes a GLREA Family Membership, costs $40.
