LIVONIA ? A new Management Information Systems degree program will be launched this fall at Madonna University to help meet the increasing demand for IT jobs, which are expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2014.

?Interestingly, industry predictions show a shortage of qualified IT people by 2010,? said William McMillan, chair of undergraduate programs for the School of Business. ?We?re confident our MIS program will help fill the gap.?

The Madonna MIS program hopes to:

Provide students with the skills necessary to compete for jobs in the global marketplace

Move from the more technical perspective of information to the management of information

Tie information management to business applications.

Graduates of Madonna?s MIS bachelor?s degree program will be prepared for careers that include: systems analyst, network administration, information management consultant, IT marketing and sales support, database design/management, and information technology manager.
