Southwest Michigan First is sponsoring a panel discussion hosted by Business Review on May 25 at Western Michigan University?s College of Engineering, located on the university?s Parkview Campus.
Additional sponsors include Associate Builders and Contractors, Inc., CTS Telecom, Lamar Construction Company and Comerica Bank. There is a $10 admission fee to attend the event, which occurs from 7:30 ? 9:30 a.m. Panelists are: Dr. Jerry Callahan, Van Andel Institute; Dr. Peter Green, Pfizer Global R&D; Donald Parfet, Apjohn Group and a member of the Southwest Michigan First board of directors; and, David Zimmermann, CEO of Kalexsyn, Inc., one of 14 biopharmaceutical companies located at the Southwest Michigan Innovation Center. The panel discussion will be moderated by Robert Miller, WMU?s associate vice president for community relations. George Erickcek of the W.E. Upjohn Institute for Employment Research will provide an overview presentation on the economy and the life sciences.
