TROY – PR agency John Bailey & Associates on Thursday named Sam Locricchio, the former Chrysler PT Cruiser PR Manager, president of the company effective immediately. John Bailey becomes chairman.

Locricchio will direct strategic planning for JB&A’s continued growth as well as with the agency’s clients; Bailey will serve as senior counselor to clients and continue his role on new business efforts. He also will continue his roles with numerous community organizations, including the Troy Chamber of Commerce, Detroit Regional Chamber and the Public Relations Society of America.

“Sam has been a key force and partner at our firm since he came to us

just under a year ago,” Bailey said. “We are thrilled he has accepted an

even greater leadership role and look forward to the years to come with Sam

at the helm. His extensive background in all facets of public relations —

corporate, agency, non-profit, public affairs — continues to strengthen

our firm as well as our growing list of clients.”

Locricchio’s broad experience runs the spectrum of public relations and

marketing disciplines. Over the past year at John Bailey & Associates, he

has lead the Volkswagen of America account and supervised numerous other

accounts including Osram Sylvania, CPU Tech and others.

While at Chrysler, Locricchio managed product launches of the immensely successful Chrysler PT Cruiser and concept vehicle introductions such as the Dodge Tomahawk, Jeep Hurricane and the Chrysler ME Four-Twelve.

Locricchio also has managed public affairs campaigns for clients like Save Michigan Horse Racing Coalition and Traffic Safety Now, the latter named by PR Week as one of the top 20 public relations campaigns of all time. Other expertise includes mergers and acquisitions with DaimlerChrysler and ArvinMeritor, special

events such as the first Detroit Grand Prix on Belle Isle, crisis

communications and countless media relations efforts.

“My father came here from Sicily in 1941 at the age of 12,” Locricchio

said. “He truly believed the adage that anyone can grow up to be president

with hard work. I don’t think he’d be any less proud right now with this

version presidency. And, I don’t think I could be more proud of the team we

have in place at JB&A, the award-winning work we continue to provide to our

clients and the growth potential and expectation we can’t wait to exceed.”
