NOVI ? Wireless technology and its impact on the Detroit Regional IT Market will be the theme of this year?s ITEC trade show, which runs May 18-19 at the Novi Expo Center.

The event opens with a Keynote presentation by Glen Flowers, Midwest Vice President of Nextel Communications who will be speaking about the wireless data revolution taking place in Detroit. He will address the growing need for businesses in the Michigan to research and implement mobile solutions.

Also at ITEC next week, Microsoft will feature their new Windows Mobile software, which extends the familiar Windows experience to mobile devices, providing the mobile workforce with critical business information and applications.

ITEC said this year?s event is more than 25 percent larger than last year?s event. Major IT companies displaying their wares this year include Intel, Cisco Systems, Computer Associates, Nokia, Avaya and Fluke Networks, as well as leading IT suppliers from the Detroit region, among the more than 90 exhibiting companies.

More than 2,000 IT decision-makers and business managers are expected to attend more than 30 special vendor presentations, as well as a custom-designed conference program covering the most current IT developments. Topics include identity and access management, VoIP, Linux, wireless integration, spyware, data security, remote networking and more.

The Detroit ITEC opens at 9 am on May 18 with Glen Flowers giving the Keynote Presentation. The exhibit floor is open from 10 am ? 4 pm. The event continues on May 19 from 10 am until 3 pm.
