TROY InternetTroy is once again calling for nominations to its Helen E-wards of Excellence, the fifth year this web development contest has been hosted by the Troy Chamber of Commerce. Seven awards are up for grabs in a competition that drew more than 200 entries last year.
Past winners have included ArvinMeritor, Beaumont Hospital, DaimlerChrysler, Godiva Chocolatier, Media Genesis, Greektown Casino, Plante & Moran, and AAA of Michigan. The Helen E-wards recognize outstanding web site achievement in seven categories – Graphic Design, eCommerce, User Friendliness, Best Use of Technology, Informational Site, Community Organization and Speaker’s Choice. The event will include an expo, as well as a keynote by Detroit Free Press Technology Reporter Mike Wendland.
We want to recognize the web collaboration we have here in Michigan, said Lou Perlotto, an InternetTroy steering committee member. Were now taking nominations. The contest is open to any Michigan company, or Michigan-based developers of other companies outside Michigan.
Winners get a glass trophy with an engraving of Helen of Troy at the ceremonies scheduled for Oct. 27 at the Troy Marriott.
