PONTIAC Guidepoint announced two new features on Tuesday designed to make finding your car easier or, if its stolen, to have it sound off loudly to alert you and the would-be thief.

Those new features include:

Smart CarFind: Youve parked your car in, say, a massive airport parking structure and cant recall exactly where you left the car. Now, you can find it easily with Guidepoints assistance. Just call the Guidepoint response center and request the Smart CarFind feature be activated. Guidepoint will send a signal to your car, and the horn will honk five times to guide you to its location.

Security Alert: If your Guidepoint-equipped car ever gets moved without proper authorization, whether its being towed or driven, your vehicles horn will begin honking to deter the thieves. The car will also send a theft notification alert automatically to the Guidepoint Response Center, which will call you at your designated contact number. (Additional parts and labor may be required for new features to function properly).

Guidepoint is committed to continuously developing new features and services that make driving safer, more secure and more convenient, said Rand Mueller, president and chief executive officer of GPSi, which operates Guidepoint.

The new features represent the latest benefits for Guidepoint subscribers, who can access features such as the On-Call Plus, E-Call Plus, low-battery notification, roadside assistance and navigation assistance.

Guidepoint (www.guidepointsystems.com) is an aftermarket theft recovery and convenience system sold at leading auto dealers in the U.S. and Mexico.
