LANSING – Governor-elect Rick Snyder is scheduled to hold a news conference on Monday in Ann Arbor naming some of the people who will serve in his cabinet starting in January and one of the names bantered around Friday was House Speaker Andy Dillon.
Dillon (D-Redford Twp.), who like Snyder had a business background prior to coming into state government, was speculated to be named either treasurer or head of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
Earlier this year, Dillon unsuccessfully ran for governor himself, losing in the primary to Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero, and is considered a moderate within his own party, similar to Snyder.
Snyder has said he wants to include Democrats in his administration, and he has so far emphasized bipartisanship in his public comments. No one reached by Gongwer News Service, however, would confirm Dillon is one of those picks.
Names of who else Snyder may tap as new administration officials were being kept very secret.
