GRAND RAPIDS ? That old 1960s mantra Think Globally, but Act Locally takes on a new meaning Friday when Local First discusses its community wealth creation ideas at The Right Place Program?s Fourth Friday event.
Local First is a network of businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals dedicated to supporting a local living economy. Its mission is to encourage and support local business and consumer behavior that promotes a healthy community and environment. In addition, Local First aims to facilitate communication between local businesses and with community groups to ensure that we’re all focused on the greater good of the community.
Ellie Frey serves as Executive Director of Local First. Guy Bazzani and Sam Cummings serve as founding board members. Guy and Sam also lead sustainable development and construction firms that focus on rebuilding communities.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Friday April 22 at CPR in Grand Rapids. Fourth Friday?s former home, the former SageStone now NuSoft offices, are under renovation.
