DEARBORN – Ford has donated a dozen hybrids gasoline-electric vehicles to the National Park Foundation in hopes of raising visibility for its upcoming Escape Hybrid.
The Foundation, a non-profit affiliate of Americas national parks, will put the vehicles to service at a handful of locations, including the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal Historical National Park, the Vietnam and Korean War Veterans Memorial; the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial; Fords Theatre; Petersen House (the house where Lincoln died), Pennsylvania Avenue National Historical Park, and the Old Post Office Tower. The remaining vehicles are expected to be utilized primarily in urban National Parks in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, and New York. Two more of the vehicles will be used in the Washington, D.C., area by Parks service staff.
