CHICAGO Midwestern survivors of the Dot Com Bust will gather in Chicago on May 20 to swap tales of how they ran the financial gauntlet at an event hosted by ePrairie.com, which provides technology news headlines from news outlets in the Midwest.
Our event, Dot-Com Boomerang, is centered primarly around the Midwest folks who’ve busted, boomed and now, as we call it, are bouncing back through a boomerang, said ePrairie Editor Adam Fendelman. We’ve secured most everyone who’s anyone in the region’s dot-com space including the founder of Hotels.com, BlueMountain.com, Proflowers.com, Orbitz, Hoovers, OpenTable.com, comScore and several others you’d certainly recognize.
The afternoon and evening event is in Chicago at the Westin River North. It includes a Lightning Panel of 15 dot comers who deliver three to five minute talks on what they did wrong, and how they survived. Attendees need to sign up by May 16. The cost is $199.
