FARMINGTON HILLS – IT consulting and outsourcing company Covansys Corp. announced Tuesday a partnership with JBoss Inc. that will let Covansys offer application development to companies that use JBoss Enterprise Middleware software.

JEMS is an open source platform for SOA (service-oriented architecture), which offers a more flexible, standards-based alternative to commercial software stacks. JEMS products can be used alone, mixed and matched or as a complete system to build applications, processes and web services.

The package includes the JBoss Application Server, Hibernate, JBoss Portal, JBoss jBPM, JBoss Rules, JBoss Cache, JBoss Transactions and Apache Tomcat.

Covansys will provide consulting, migration and implementation services. Covansys will combine JBoss with its own methodologies to offer clients migration and implementation. Through this partnership, Covansys will retool its global delivery centers to provide the latest technologies and architectures based on JEMS products.

“Covansys plans to leverage our partnership with JBoss in order to meet the growing needs of our clients and our clients’ customers, particularly in Canada where we are the first Preferred Certified Systems Integrator with this level of partnership,” said Krishnaswamy Subrahmaniam, president and CEO, Covansys India, Asia-Pacific and Europe. “This relationship with JBoss positions us as a leader in open source middleware and demonstrates our commitment to our clients by enriching our service offerings and solutions.”
