WARREN Computer Builders Warehouse has gone international. After opening seven franchise stores around the country, the company has now opened its first outside the continental United States, in Puerto Rico.

CBW not only offers retail service, an in-store lab and on-site service, but will also host educational courses inside the store. Classes will include information on how to build computer systems, how to use Windows and the Internet, and advanced computing.

This expansion is exciting as Computer Builders Warehouse will be able to offer products and services to a significantly expanding market in Puerto Rico, said COO Gene Thomas. As this market is currently underserved in terms of technology providers, we have the potential to capture significant market share as our products and services are unlike any other available in the region. We provide a specialized level of service, and a vast array of products that will fulfill the technology needs of consumers and businesses at all levels.

Besides providing for the computer needs of the general population, the company also sees a big market for helping local businesses in the San Juan area. Puerto Rico may not be its last overseas expansion. Computer Builders Warehouse is currently researching additional expansion, including the Virgin Islands and Latin America.

The companys marketing strategy seems to be working better than its much bigger competitors. While the market for computer retail is up 10 percent from last year, Computer Builders Warehouse has increased its national sales 20 percent in the last year.
